My day went great!
Checkin at the hospital was easy and it was nice seeing sme familiar old friends working as volunteers. Especially nice was nurse emily who was able to sympathize with me over the bruised arms and hand. She was calm and assured about drawing blood. She did so well I would have clapped but one hand of mine was in hers. Dan cheered and nurse emily is now goddess of phlebotomy #2. She liked that.
Hving the IV was not so easy. A second nurse attempted but before blowing any veins she called in a special nurse who could set an IV in anyone... yep... ha.. we'll she did great and the doctor acknowledged her success.
I was in line and ready for surgery but the surgeon wasnot ready for me so I watched days and checked email and waited.
2:30pm the surgical team shows up to wheel me out. I was given "something to relax" in the IV line. All I remember after that was moving out of the room, down the hall, kiss from Dan and next thing ya know it's 4:30pm and I am somewhere else with other nurses and thinking W O W!
The surgery went well. One stone was removed, a stint was put in, and I was starving, thirsty, and wondering why my throat hurts.
There's so much to be thankful for. My husband took great care of me today, all the staff at the hospital were so attentive and compassionate, the campbell's soup for dinner made me long for a bowl of homemade beef veggie soup, and my flowers are still perky and beautiful.
Thanks to all who prayed for me. It's really comforting to know so many dear ones in my life take time to remember me. I am so very thankful for you all.
