It's been a quiet day. The birds are building their spring nests. The wrens have returned to the window sill where they nested last spring. Their song is a welcome change to the cold winter wind.
French Blue
My studio needs much attention but rather than clean and sort through more boxed treasures, I decided to dye some seam binding. the rayon ribbon takes color so nicely. I dyed a new batch of dove gray, which turns out a little different each time I make a new batch. I also primmed up some bright orange seam binding, and tried a new mix which turned out very "French" looking. i love them all! I may spend the rest of the day dyeing ribbons!
Prim Orange
There's a small antique Whitman's chocolate tin sitting on my desk. it's full of antique photographs and snippets of ephemera. One of the photograph shows Ruby Flanders as a young girl dresses in fancy lace with her hair down. She's so beautiful. I thought I'd share her portrait with you today. Ruby is my husband's grandmother.

Yummy yummy! I love to dye. I have been dying tablecloths for our retreats. I have a sinful amount! Better than redecorating every year, though!!!
When is Belle Dentelle going to open again? I need lace...you have the best!
Your biggest fan
