Atlanta s an awesome city! I am here visiting my niece and five of her seven children. She lives in the Atlanta suburbs where the children can walk to school just a few blocks from home. Living in the country is nice but this suburban life is wonderful. We are far enough from the hustle bustle of the city and close enough to enjoy city life. I love it! I could live here and be very comfortable except for the high humidity.
Over the past weekend we visited the Dekalb International Farmers Market, where there was a huge selection of fresh fruits and veggies! Everything was so fresh! I stocked up on tons of greens, fresh vegetables, and other good fresh foods.
There were so many foods had never seen before, and would have loved to try. bought some yuca which is a new food for me. I have no idea what to do with it though. I did a google search and found it can be cooked like potatoes, so that's what I will do. I am tempted to fry it! But think I will peel it and boil it, a more healthy choice.
I will be in Atlanta for another 9 days. It's so much fun to be with the children. Each of them have very unique personalities. They are fun and loving and a joy to be with. We have been walking after dinner and watching movies, cooking together, and enjoying each other very much.
I am looking forward to returning to the Dekalb Farmers Market this weekend with the children. I hope to buy some fresh rock fish and shrimp!
